Ratification of Bilateral Agreements and Readmission Policies in Serbia

At the first session of the First Regular Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2025, the agenda included several bilateral agreements between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and other states. As part of its commitments as a candidate for EU membership, the Republic of Serbia has continued aligning its foreign policy with that of the European Union. In this context, bilateral agreements on mutual visa exemption have been signed with the governments of Guatemala, Antigua and Barbuda, and Venezuela. Once these agreements come into effect, citizens of these countries will be allowed to stay in Serbia for up to 90 consecutive days without a visa. The agenda will also include the ratification of the Agreement on Readmission of Persons between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This agreement establishes procedures for the acceptance and return of individuals who do not meet, or no longer meet, the requirements for entry, residence, or stay on the territory of either contracting party.
