Solidarity with Civil Society Organizations

KlikAktiv expresses deep concern over the recent police raids on the premises of civil society organizations, including CRTA, Trag Foundation, the National Youth Council of Serbia, the Center for Practical Politics, and Civic Initiatives. These actions represent a serious attack on fundamental civil rights and a continuation of unlawful pressure on the civil sector in Serbia.

Particularly alarming is the fact that these actions were carried out without a proper legal basis, further confirming the lack of independence of state institutions and their ongoing misuse for political purposes. Such actions are aimed at intimidating organizations that work in the interest of all Serbian citizens and take an objective, critical stance towards the government and social conditions in the country.

It is essential to enable these organizations to operate freely, without fear of repression and pressure, as the civil sector plays a crucial role in the development of a democratic society. Its role in fostering civic participation, protecting human rights, and promoting transparency and government accountability must be safeguarded and respected. We call on the relevant institutions to acknowledge the work and contributions of these organizations to society and to immediately cease practices of intimidation and obstruction of their activities.

Klikaktiv will continue to support and stand in solidarity with all civil society organizations facing pressure, and we remain committed to advocating for the protection of their rights and freedoms, in line with democratic values and the principles of the rule of law.
